The Haigh’s Chocolates facility in Salisbury South is the largest infrastructure investment in the history of one of Australia’s most iconic family-owned chocolate makers. The $130 million purpose-built factory, delivered by CIP Constructions, spans a 36,000m² site including 9,000m² of production facilities and 6,000m² of warehousing — effectively doubling Haigh’s chocolate production capacity. The facility features specialised panning, enrobing, and moulding lines alongside kitchen and packing equipment.
Floortek was engaged by CIP Constructions to deliver flooring across both the production and commercial areas of the facility, with distinct systems specified for each zone:
Production Areas
- Self-levelling epoxy flooring — seamless, hygienic surface providing chemical resistance and cleanability for food manufacturing environments
- Polyurethane cement flooring — installed across production areas where thermal shock resistance and heavy-duty durability are required; the preferred system for food and beverage manufacturing
- Epoxy mortar cove skirtings — installed throughout production areas to eliminate floor-to-wall junctions, ensuring a fully seamless, hygienic finish that meets food manufacturing standards
Foyer, Office & Amenity Areas
- Mechanically polished concrete — installed across two floors of the foyer, office, and amenity areas, delivering a premium, low-maintenance finish consistent with the facility’s high-quality fit-out
- Polished concrete staircases — two staircases polished to match the finish of the surrounding floor areas
