Builder: Built | Service: Protective Epoxy Coatings, Decorative Epoxy Staircases & Balcony Waterproofing | Location: Lot Fourteen, North Terrace, Adelaide
Following the completion of the Bice Building base building refurbishment by Hansen Yuncken, Floortek was re-engaged for the full fitout works by builder Built — delivering the protective and decorative flooring systems throughout the building’s commercial workspaces, circulation areas, and balconies.
The fitout scope covered three distinct flooring systems across the building:
- Anti-slip epoxy protective coatings to all main thoroughfares — a durable non-slip epoxy system applied to all primary circulation routes throughout the building, protecting the substrate from wear under high foot traffic while maintaining a professional commercial finish consistent with the Lot Fourteen precinct’s design intent
- Decorative non-slip epoxy system to all staircases — a decorative epoxy system with non-slip properties applied to all internal staircases, combining safety performance with a refined aesthetic appropriate to the heritage fitout environment
- Epoxy mortar screeds to falls with trafficable waterproofing membrane to all balconies — epoxy mortar screeds laid to achieve correct drainage falls across all balcony surfaces, followed by a trafficable waterproofing membrane system to prevent water ingress into the structure below. Critical scope in a heritage building where water penetration into the existing fabric carries significant risk.
The Bice Building fitout represents Floortek’s capability across the full spectrum of commercial flooring and waterproofing — from protective industrial coatings to decorative finishes in a heritage environment, delivered for one of Australia’s leading commercial builders.
